For this week, we will be taking a break from our 4 Data Steps series to honor and celebrate our Veterans.
I would like to thank and appreciate those who fought and served in harm’s way to preserve our freedom and the freedom of others. As you enjoy a day off and think about Veterans Day, let us take a moment to express our gratitude to the brave men and women who have served in our armed forces.
Their sacrifices and dedication have protected our freedom and shaped our nation. I encourage everyone to reflect on the importance of their service and to find ways to show appreciation, whether through a simple thank you or by learning more about their stories.
As school leaders, we understand that education is more than just teaching subjects; it’s about shaping character, fostering respect, and building a sense of community. Veterans’ Day is a day that we have the opportunity to educate our students on the values of service, courage, and sacrifice. Let us take time this week to honor those who have served in our nation's armed forces, acknowledging the commitment they made to our freedoms and way of life.
Veteran's Day can be a powerful teaching moment. We can remind students that the peace and opportunities they enjoy today didn’t come by accident. It took generations of brave individuals who put country before self, leaving behind families and comfort to serve a cause larger than themselves.
May this Veterans’ Day remind us of the values that this appreciation embodies and may these values be instilled in the next generation.
